Yes, we have private study rooms and group discussion rooms available for members. Rooms can be booked for up to 2 hours per session through the online booking system or at the front desk. Study rooms are available during library opening hours and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
To cancel your membership, submit a written request at the library desk or send an email to the library administration. Unused membership fees are non-refundable. To update your personal details such as address, phone number, or email, log into your member portal or visit the front desk with your library card and a valid ID.
Yes, the Axify Library mobile app is available for both Android and iOS. With the app you can search the catalogue, check availability, renew loans, make reservations, access e-books, and receive real-time notifications about due dates and library announcements — all from the convenience of your phone.
If you notice a damaged book, please return it to the desk and inform the librarian. Do not attempt to repair it yourself. For facility issues such as broken furniture, equipment faults, or cleanliness concerns, please speak to any staff member or fill in a feedback form available at the front desk or online. We aim to resolve all reported issues promptly.
The library regularly organises a range of events including book club meetings, author talks, writing workshops, children's reading camps, and academic seminars. Many events are free for members. Yes, we gratefully accept book donations from individuals and organisations. Donated books in good condition are added to our collection or distributed during community book drives. Please contact the library administration before dropping off donations so we can assess the suitability of the books. Tax receipts can be provided upon request for eligible donors.
You can view your complete borrowing history, current loans, reservations, and outstanding fines by logging into your member account on our website or mobile app. Your account dashboard shows due dates, renewal options, and payment history. For assistance with your account, contact our helpdesk.
Non-members are welcome to visit the library and use the reading rooms and reference section free of charge. However, borrowing books, accessing digital resources, reserving study rooms, and attending exclusive events require a valid membership. We encourage non-members to register for a free trial membership.
The library is open Saturday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM. On Fridays, we are open from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The library is closed on public holidays. Special extended hours may be available during exam seasons — please check our website or notice board for updates.
To become a member, visit the library registration desk with a valid photo ID and proof of address. You can also register online through our website. Once your application is approved, you will receive a library card that grants access to all our services including book borrowing, e-library access, and study room reservations.
You can place a reservation on any book that is currently borrowed by another member. Log in to your member account, search for the book, and click "Reserve." You will be notified by email or SMS when the book becomes available for collection. Reserved books are held for 3 days before being released.
Yes, our digital library provides access to thousands of e-books, academic journals, and online databases. Members can access these resources 24/7 through the library portal from any device. Digital resources include collections from Springer, Cambridge Core, IEEE Xplore, and more. A valid membership is required for access.
If you have lost a library book, please report it to the library desk immediately. You will be required to pay a replacement fee equal to the current market price of the book plus a processing fee of BDT 50. Once payment is received, the record will be updated and your borrowing privileges will be restored.
Yes, you can renew your books online through your member account portal or by calling the library helpdesk. Renewals must be requested before the due date. Each book can be renewed up to 3 times unless it has been reserved by another member, in which case renewal will not be possible.
A late return fine of BDT 5 per day is charged for each overdue book. Fines are automatically calculated from the due date. Your borrowing privileges may be suspended until all outstanding fines are cleared. You can pay fines at the front desk or through the online member portal.
Standard members can borrow books for 14 days. You may renew your loan up to 3 times online or at the front desk, provided no other member has placed a reservation on the book. If you need the book for longer, please speak to a librarian who may be able to assist with an extended loan.
The number of books you can borrow depends on your membership type. Regular members can borrow up to 5 books at a time, while premium members can borrow up to 10 books. Student members are allowed up to 3 books simultaneously. Corporate members may borrow up to 15 books per registered staff.
